Reimagining the music sharing and discovery process in-person

UX/UI Design UX Research | MAR 2022 (4 Months)

My second designathon (Adobe College + Sonos Creative Jam) where we won honourable mention. Within a week, we did user research, ideation, and prototyping to create our mobile app Musica 🎵 for people to easily discover and share their love for music with others in the same space.

 

Creating a better course selection experience for graduate students

UX Research UX Design | FALL 2021 (4 Months)

A web-based platform integrated within UofT’s ACORN system that allow graduate students to browse courses for the upcoming year, add interested courses to their wishlist, compare courses side-by-side, and build different visual timetables to better plan out their schedules.

Understanding Note-Taking Practices

UX Research | Fall 2021 (4 Months)

How do students take notes and develop their note-taking practices? Does it vary by subjects? Conducted interviews and diary students to better understand current user pain points and how students take notes and develop note-taking practices to understand the current user pain points and created design recommendations to help enhance the note-taking experience. 

 

Creating a better interview experience for job applicants

UX/UI Design UX Research | WINTER 2022 (4 Months)

This project looks at how the interview process experience (before, during, and after interviews) for job applicants. Through conducting user research (surveys + interviews), I designed a desktop, mobile, and emerging user interface.

  • Adobe College + Patagonia Creative Jam Hackathon | Dec 2021

    My first UX designathon. Design prompt: to design a third-party mobile app that informs users about brands who support living wages. Within a span of one week, my teammate and I conducted secondary research, ideation, and prototyping to create our app Everest 🌱.

  • Workability | Sept-Dec 2020

    My group was tasked to identify an industry that was struggling due to COVID-19. Focusing on the hotel industry, we did secondary research, and built a persona and customer journey map. Via ideation and prototyping, we created our app, Workability that enables working professionals to easily find hotel rooms as workspaces based on factors that matter to them (price, location, etc.) 🏫

    Data-driven redesign with interview, survey, card sorting and tree testing. 🕵️‍♀️

  • Examining Speeded Video Lectures.

    Honours Thesis, Research | 2020-2021

    An honours thesis project that I did at the University of Waterloo where I looked at the effects of seven video speeds on one’s comprehension, attention, and learner’s experience (Currently under review for publication). 💻

  • UW/UX: Researching the User Research Initiative.

    UX Research | Spring 2021 (4 months)

    Looked at how to build the UXR branch at UW/UX, a student-run organization. To better understand user pain points and develop a research strategy, we conducted user research. 🔍
